Garden Design

We work closely with our clients to produce a brief based on their vision and budget, and closely considering the space at hand. This means understanding the aspect, soil condition, existing planting and hard landscaping elements and environmental conditions.

From here, designed Charlie works up various stages of plans which are checked with the client at every turn: the process is collaborative to ensure we can provide the best possible outcome.

Below are some examples of gardens we have designed and replanted, from large to small. All are designed with sustainability in mind, which in addition to the environmental - using local suppliers, and focusing on reuse and responsible recycling - also includes considering the longevity and maintenance of the gardens we design carefully at the outset. We are regularly asked to maintain our designs so have the chance to see how they progress over the years and through the seasons.

Our Approach: Facilitating Nature

Our approach to garden design is rooted in allowing nature to flourish and in creating spaces that blend in with the surrounding area. Although we have a preference for certain plant styles over others the final result will always reflect our clients rather than us. By directing energy into the right areas we can transform a blank canvas into a living breathing garden.

Charm is created by selecting the ‘right plant for the right place’ and a sense of enclosure is necessary to feel immersed in nature. Local histories are used to inform the materials choices always with a mind to use less chemicals, reclaimed materials and make sustainable choices.
