A sustainable garden design in Herne Hill using reclaimed materials found on site. A deconstructed bomb shelter was repurposed as a patio, while reclaimed railway sleepers form raised planting beds filled with sand.
The sand beds provide a dynamic alternative to conventional planting, requiring less irrigation while supporting a diverse range of plants. Towards the house, lush planting and rare evergreen species create rich texture, seasonal change and year-round interest.
